Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, WorldBulletin reported.
According to the Palestinian official news agency Wafa, the upcoming 6th party congress of the Fatah was discussed.
Earlier, Hamas said that it will not allow Fatah officials to leave Gaza for the party congress, which Palestinian President Abbas is due to chair in Bethlehem on August 4 till Hamas members, who were detained in West bank by Palestinian authority, are released.
Palestinian authority requested Davutoglu and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Sultanov to act as mediator to resolve the issue.
Recent regional developments and the Middle East peace process were also high on agenda of the conversation.
