Ex-Turkish opposition leader's lawyers argue about no evidence of his involvement in scandalous video
Lawyers of ex-Turkish Opposition Leader Deniz Baykal, who was involved in a sexual scandal, stated that it is impossible to prove that actually Baykal and MP Nesrin Baytok were in the video, CNN Turk reported.
The video of sexual content on the private lives of Baikal and Baytok, which was spread in Internet, led to Baykal's resignation from the post of the Republican People's Party (MHP) Head.
The party has not yet selected a new leader. The final vote to elect a new leader will be held May 22.
The lawyers also reported that the names of customers of the scandalous video still remain unknown.
Speaking in opposition to the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) policy in the 2007 general election, the CHP formed a coalition with the Democratic Left Party. The coalition received 22 percent of voters and 112 members won seats.
The Turkish government denied any involvement in this scandal.
