Turkish PM, U.S. President discuss fight against PKK and Turkish-Israeli relations

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the U.S. President Barack Obama stressed the favor of the tripartite mechanism to combat the terrorist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) between Iraq, Turkey and the U.S.during a meeting in Toronto, Anadolu news agency reported.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the U.S. President Barack Obama stressed the favor of the tripartite mechanism to combat the terrorist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) between Iraq, Turkey and the U.S.during a meeting in Toronto, Anadolu news agency reported.

The two leaders also emphasized the need for continuing the mechanism.

Besides, the meeting discussed the Iranian nuclear program, Israel's attack on the flotilla, carrying humanitarian aid the Gaza Strip and the subsequent events.

During the meeting importance attached by the U.S. to the relations between Turkey and Israel was stressed. It was emphasized that the U.S. will continue to contribute to solving the problems between the two countries.

During the meeting the Turkish side reiterated that it demands Israel to apologize, pay compensation and lift the Gaza Strip's blockade.
