Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Umit Yardim said on Sunday that the G5+1 should explain the reason why they are against holding nuclear talks with Iran in Istanbul, IRNA reported.
Turkey tried to facilitate next round of talks between Iran and G5+1, he said.
Responding to a question in an exclusive interview with IRNA that why the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton has made objection to hold the meeting in Istanbul, he said that the venue of such a meeting is not important, the key point is that such sensitive talks must be held anywhere.
Turkey calls for settlement of Iran's nuclear stand off through peaceful means, he said.
Ashton has rejected Istanbul as the venue of nuclear talks with Iran and proposed that Switzerland or Austria host the talks.
