Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Monday said he "greatly welcomed" the death of Osama bin Laden and that his death should serve as a warning to others, DPA reported.
"This shows that terrorists and the leaders of terrorist organisations will in the end be caught, whether dead or alive," Gul said, according to the semi-official Anatolya news agency.
"That the world's most dangerous and sophisticated mastermind has been caught in this way should serve as a warning to everyone," he added.
