Europe should be more active in realization of energy projects, aiming at providing European countries' energy security, TRT Haber TV Channel quotes Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz as saying.

"Turkey has already done all it could, by giving its permission for all regional energy projects," Yildiz said.

This week Russia and Turkey agreed on the long-term contracts on gas supplies until 2021 and 2025. The agreement was reached in Ankara in talks between Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz and executives from Russia's Gazprom on the award of a final construction permit for the South Stream pipeline, which will carry Russian gas from the Black Sea to Europe.

Yildiz said that Russia has presented all terms and details on South Stream project to Turkey in order to obtain permission for its construction.

"Turkish TPAO (oil and gas corporation) participated in seismic exploration on the Black Sea, and after the accession by the Turkish FMA the decision was made to give a permission for South Stream project realization," Yildiz.
