Earthquake hits Turkish city

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the Turkish city of Malatya on Thursday, CNN Turk TV channel reported.
According to the preliminary data, there are no victims and destructions.
An earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted Van province on Oct.23 killing more than 600 people.
Turkey is located in a seismically active zone. The most powerful vibrations of the earth's crust in this country occurred in the Marmara Sea in 1999. The magnitude of the tremors was 7.4. About 18,000 people killed in the earthquake.
