Two village guards were killed and one soldier injured in clashes with the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Friday night in Bahçesaray district of eastern Turkish province of Van, Today's Zaman reported.

Two village guards were killed and one soldier injured in clashes with the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Friday night in Bahçesaray district of eastern Turkish province of Van, Today's Zaman reported.

Security forces, who were patrolling the Liman neighborhood on Friday night, were attacked by a group of terrorists.

Temporary village guards Mehmet Emin Yabalak and Medeni Talyak were killed by the PKK terrorists, while one specialist sergeant was injured.

The soldier, who was first treated in Bahçesaray State Hospital, was taken to Van Military Hospital with an ambulance helicopter.

Clashes between troops and the PKK terrorists continue in the region and the security forces have launched a large-scale operation backed by military aircrafts.
