Fire in high-rise building in Istanbul extinguished, no one injured or dead (UPDATE 2)

A fire in high-rise, 42-story shopping center, which caught fire in Turkish city of Istanbul, has been extinguished, TRT Haber TV channel quotes the city's municipality head Huseyn Avni Mutlu as saying. The situation is under control.

A fire took place in a 42-story building in Istanbul on Tuesday.

People were evacuated from residential houses and gas stations near the shopping center. Many fire engines were involved to extinguish the fire.

It was reported there were many people in the building, and measures were taken for their evacuation.

Due to the fact that the building entrance caught fire, there were difficulties in evacuation.

The cause of the fire is unknown yet.
