German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Turkey's southeastern Gaziantep province on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Merkel will pay a two-day visit to Turkey as the guest of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Merkel will first visit southern Kahramanmaras city where she will meet German soldiers working in Patriot air defense systems, and then proceed to central Anatolian province of Nevsehir.
On Monday morning, Merkel will tour Goreme National Park, and then proceed to capital Ankara at noon.
Merkel will visit Anitkabir, Ataturk's Mausoleum, and will be received by President Abdullah Gul.
She will also attend Turkish-German Economy Forum. Merkel is expected to return to Germany on Monday night.
