People who have lost hope for justice of international organizations, including the UN, are looking for it among terrorists, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Sept. 25, TRT Haber TV channel reported.

"A serious political crisis is being observed in Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Libya, Afghanistan and Ukraine," he said.

"Turkey is one of the countries that is most effectively fighting terrorism," Erdogan said.

Regarding the military operations against the Islamic State group (also known as IS, ISIL, ISIS) militants in Syria, Erdogan said that the Islamic State is a bloody terrorist organization.

"The terrorists intensified their activity in Iraq because the country previously pursued a policy not aimed at uniting all religions," Erdogan said.

The terrorist organization calling itself the Islamic State (IS) was created in 2003 in Iraq. In 2004-2006, the organization was led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and consisted of 11 radical Islamic groups, which had close ties to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.

Following the start of military confrontation in Syria between the armed opposition and the government forces, the terrorist organization penetrated the country in 2013.After this, the terrorist organization said it refuses to take the oath of Al-Qaeda and declared a jihad (a holy war) against all groups in Iraq and Syria, as well as the Syrian government forces.

Strengthening of the IS in Syria allowed it to return to Iraq, deploying military actions against government forces there.

In late June, the IS announced about the creation of the "Islamic Caliphate" on the territories under its control in Iraq and Syria. In turn, Iraqi authorities asked international community for help in combating the IS.
