Everybody is aware about the hypocrisy of the West, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was quoted Jan.13 by the Turkish newspaper Milliyet as saying.

"While Muslims are opposing terrorism, the attacks on mosques continue in Western countries," he said.

Erdogan said that the attack on the mosques is caused by Islamophobia and religious intolerance.

"As the Muslims in the West stand for the victims of terrorism, the West also must stand against the attacks on mosques," Erdogan said.

Over 3.7 million people were involved in the protests against terrorism in Paris on January 11.

Moreover, the protests against terrorism were held in a number of countries - the US, Palestine, Australia, Israel and Morocco. Over 1.5 million people participated there.

Around 12 people were killed after the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine, also mosques and Islamic cultural centers were attacked in some European countries.
