Turkey strengthens security measures in connection with the release of the local newspaper Cumhuriyet Jan.14, which will feature publications and caricatures of the French weekly Charlie Hebdo in the Turkish language, the Turkish news agency Anadolu said Jan.14.

After Turkey has decided that the first issue of the weekly Charlie Hebdo, prepared after the terrorist attack on this magazine, would be reprinted by the local newspaper Cumhuriyet in Turkish, it was opposed by a number of non-governmental organizations.

On Jan.13, protests took place at the building, where the newspaper Cumhuriyet is located.

Earlier it was reported that the first issue of the weekly Charlie Hebdo, prepared after the terrorist attack on this magazine will be published in Turkey in the Turkish language. This magazine will be published January 14.

On Jan.7, the terrorists, presumably those associated with radical Islamic circles, shot 12 people in the Paris editorial staff of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, and on Jan.9, took hostage nearly 20 people in the store of kosher food, killing four of them.
