PEGIDA movement in Germany and the 'Islamic State' terrorist organization pursue similar goals, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was quoted Jan. 15 by Anadolu agency as saying.

He said that as the "Islamic State" is a threat to Muslim countries, PEGIDA movement is similarly a threat to Germany.

"Turkey is concerned about PEGIDA's actions, as its representatives want to see German society without Muslims, in particular without Turks," he said.

" The"Islamic State" wants to see Iraq and Syria without a Christian population," Davutoglu said.

In December 2014, an anti-Islam rally was held in the German city of Dresden. Over 17,000 people took part in the rally.

This anti-Islam rally was the tenth of its kind, organized against Islam and Muslims by the movement known as PEGIDA, and was held under the slogan: "Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West".

The rally participants protested against the increase of the number of Muslims in Europe and called for tightening of immigration policy in Germany.
