The Palace of Justice in Istanbul will be named on behalf of Prosecutor Selim Kiraz, who was killed during an anti-terrorist operation on March 31, TRT Haber TV channel reported April 2 with reference to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Davutoglu said that Turkey reveres the memory of the deceased prosecutor.

Two armed men took the Prosecutor Selim Kiraz hostage in the Palace of Justice in Istanbul on March 31. The gunmen were identified as members of the far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), who demanded the arrest of the police officers responsible for the death of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan during the street protests in 2013.

The two terrorists were also killed during the special operation to rescue Kiraz.

In another incident, an unknown armed person broke into the building of the Istanbul branch of the country's ruling Justice and Development Party in the city's Kartal district on April 1.

The gendarmerie forces managed to neutralize the attacker.
