Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will bring an action against the leader of the opposition Republican People's Party Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the president's lawyer Ali Ozkaya said June 1, Anadolu agency reported.
Ozkaya said that the appeal will be made on June 2.
The president will urge Kilicdaroglu to pay non-pecuniary damage for his statements, the lawyer added.
Earlier, Kilicdaroglu claimed gold was used in finishing the new presidential palace in Ankara, the contruction of which was completed in November 2014.
The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his readiness to resign if the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will be able to prove that gold was used in finishing the new presidential palace (Ak Saray) in Ankara.
