A father and his two children were killed in an explosion in the eastern Turkish province of Elazig on Saturday, security sources said, Anadolu agency reported.
Earlier, it was reported that both children were boys; however, according to latest reports, one of the victims is a young girl.
Cetin Yildirim, 32, his son Ensar, 9, and daughter Ecrin, 3, were among those killed when a blast took place in an open field outside Bozcanak village of Palu district, the sources said.
The three were reportedly in the Hanonu area to dump garbage piled in a wheelbarrow. The blast left a one-and-a-half meter deep and two-meter wide crater, the sources added.
Ambulances and a large number of security forces were dispatched to the area following the incident.
An investigation has been launched to find out the cause of the blast.
