Two unknown people attacked the Kyrach district police department in the European part of Istanbul, Turkey, TASS reported referring to the Turkish NTV TV channel.
The attackers opened fire with automatic weapons.
The law enforcement officers immediately fired back. The exchange of fire continued for several minutes and the terrorists managed to escape. Police officers using helicopters are searching for the attackers.
It is also reported that policemen raided several houses in local neighborhoods and the patios of houses, where the attackers could hide.
The operation is underway. There are no injured or killed among the policemen.
