Russia and Turkey will be unable to retain previous relations, Huseyin Altinalan, the head of Anadolu news agency's Istanbul bureau, told Trend Nov. 24.

Altinalan was commenting on the incident with the Russian warplane downed in the Turkish airspace.

He said that Turkey is ready to do everything on its territory and beyond the country to protect its national interests.

Altinalan said that Turkey will render the necessary support to ethnic Turkomans in Syria.

He did not rule out that Russia and Syria, carrying out the operations against ethnic Turkomans, will face new surprises in the region.

The Turkish Air Force shot down the Russian military warplane SU-24 in its airspace. Both pilots managed to eject. The war plane crashed in the territory of Syria.

"Turkey will do its best to protect Syrian Turkomans," the expert said.
