Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke to Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by telephone on Tuesday about Syrian government and Russian attacks in northern Syria, Anadolu reported.

Erdogan stressed the alarming nature of the attacks, which further aggravated the humanitarian crisis, a presidential source said.

Erdogan and the king discussed the preparations for the forthcoming summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul as well as regional developments, the source said under customary condition of anonymity.

The leaders agreed to work to end attacks targeting opposition forces in Syria and urged the international community to act to secure access for humanitarian aid.
