By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

Strong relationships being built between Turkey and Russia shouldn’t worry other countries, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said according to local news reports on Feb. 5.

No one worries when other countries build up ties with Russia, but panic arises when it comes to Turkey, he added.

Turkey intends to build closer ties with all countries, Cavusoglu noted.

He also said that development of Turkish-Russian relationships doesn’t necessarily mean that they are aimed against the US.

The goal of Ankara is to get mutual benefits with all sides, the official said.

“Turkey and Russia have historical ties and there is nothing unnatural in the development of the relationships between Ankara and Moscow,” Cavusoglu said.
