As a response to naval exercises of Greece, conducted from March 6 to March 30, the Turkish Navy also began exercises in the Aegean Sea, the Turkish media reported citing military sources.
Reportedly, the Turkish naval exercises began on March 7 and will continue until April 30.
The number of ships of the Turkish Navy, which will take part in the exercises, has not been revealed.
As it was previously reported, the Greek Navy began naval exercises in the Aegean Sea.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the information about the collision of boats of the Turkish and Greek coast guards. According to the head of state, the incident did not cause problems. Erdogan laid the responsibility for the incident on the Greek side, saying “the Greeks were confused”.
