Used cars with mileage of over 160,000 kilometers will be required to pass examination during their sale in Turkey, the country’s Resmi Gazete newspaper reported March 13.
“Technical condition of a car, the names of modified parts and the exact mileage will be indicated during the sale of used cars,” the report noted.
As many as 2.8 million used cars were sold in Turkey in 2017.
In January 2018, the number of vehicles in Turkey exceeded 22.325 million.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Models of Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are currently assembled in Turkey.
Moreover, Turkey manufactures local brands of buses, such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
