Erdogan: Turkey’s opposition, ruling party to keep alliance over municipal election

The alliance between Turkey’s opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) over municipal election will continue, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Trend reported citing the Turkish media.

Erdogan noted that the alliance is necessary and everyone who united forces for the benefit of Turkey understands this well.

Erdogan added that he will meet MHP leader Devlet Bahceli soon to discuss this alliance.

Earlier, Bahceli announced the termination of the alliance with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) during the municipal election to be held in Turkey March 2019.

The municipal election in Turkey is held every five years.
