Two more logistics centers may be built in Istanbul's Catalca district, Binali Yildirim, the ex-speaker of the Turkish parliament and a candidate for the head of the Istanbul municipality, said, Trend reports via Turkish media.

Yildirim noted that the construction of logistics centers in Istanbul is a very important endeavor to help Istanbul become the logistics center of Turkey.

Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the country had earlier told Trend that a logistics center was set for construction at the new Istanbul airport.

The construction of the center is planned to be completed in two stages, according to the ministry.

At the first stage, a 1.4 million square meter (m2) area shall be allocated for the construction of the logistics center at the Istanbul airport, and 200,000 m2 for the second stage, the ministry stated.
