Turkey's trade with BSEC member states growing

Turkey's trade turnover with member states of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) increased by $8.731 billion in January-July 2019 and amounted to $29 billion, compared to the same period in 2018, the Turkish Ministry of Customs and Trade told Trend.

According to the ministry, Turkey’s exports to the BSEC countries during the said period amounted to $10.5 billion, which is 4.8 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

"Turkey's imports from the BSEC countries amounted to $18.5 billion in January-July 2019, which is 9.2 percent less compared to the same period in 2018," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, Turkey's trade turnover with the BSEC countries amounted to $4.53 billion in July 2019.

"In July 2019, Turkey's exports to the BSEC countries amounted to $1.63 billion, while imports from these countries amounted to $2.99 billion," the ministry said.

Compared to last year, the total export of Turkey increased by 7.9 percent and amounted to $15.16 billion in July. At the same time, Turkish imports decreased by 8.5 percent, having amounted to $18.35 billion. Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $33.51 billion in July.
