Some 327 Iraqi entrepreneurs received the Turkish citizenship in January-August 2019, Trend reports referring to the Turkish media.
Reportedly, Iraqi entrepreneurs obtained such an opportunity according to the amendments to the law facilitating the granting of the Turkish citizenship, which were approved by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on December 7, 2018.
Some 240 Afghan businessmen received the Turkish citizenship in January-August 2019.
Some 170 Palestinian entrepreneurs, 110 entrepreneurs from Egypt, 66 entrepreneurs from Libya, 29 entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia and 21 entrepreneurs from Russia received the Turkish citizenship in January-August 2019.
President Erdogan approved the amendments to the corresponding law on December 7, 2018 to simplify the process of granting the Turkish citizenship. So, foreigners who have invested $250,000 in the Turkish economy will be able to obtain the Turkish citizenship.
Earlier, this amount was $500,000.
