The agreement on a 120-hour cessation of military operations in Syria's north by the Turkish Armed Forces has entered into force, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Trend reports citing Turkish media.

According to Erdogan, during this period, the forces of the terrorist organization YPG/PYD are obliged to leave the northern regions of Syria.

On Oct. 17, Ankara agreed with Washington to suspend the Operation Peace Spring in Syria's north for 120 hours, so that during this time the YPG/PYD detachments would leave northern Syria.

On Oct. 9, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of a new military operation in Syria, called "Peace Spring".
