In September 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US through Turkish ports amounted to 13.8 million tons, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The volume of cargo transshipment from the US by ships flying the US flag amounted to 42,331 tons, while the US vessels flying flags of other countries carried the rest volume of cargo.
During the reported period, cargo transshipment from the US by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 407,351 tons.
“During this period, 293,509 tons of cargo were sent from the US in transit through Turkish ports,” the ministry said.
In September 2019, 260.1 million tons of cargo were transshipped in Turkish ports as a whole.
Over the mentioned period, vessels flying the Turkish flag transshipped 21.0 million tons of cargo, while vessels flying the flag of their country – 12.1 million tons, and the vessels flying the flag of other countries – 226.96 million tons of cargo.
