Cargo transshipment from China via Turkish ports in September 2019

In September 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from China through Turkish ports amounted to nearly 3.4 million tons, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The ministry noted that in September 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from China by ships flying the Chinese flag amounted to 25,465 tons, while ships flying flags of other countries carried nearly 3.36 million tons of cargo. Moreover, cargo transshipment from China by ships sailing under the Turkish flag amounted to 6,911 tons.

During this period, almost 2.2 million tons of cargo were shipped from China through ports of Turkey.

In September 2019, 260.1 million tons of cargo were transshipped in Turkish ports as a whole.

Over the mentioned period, vessels flying the Turkish flag transshipped 21.0 million tons of cargo, while vessels flying the flag of their country – 12.1 million tons, and the vessels flying the flag of other countries – 226.96 million tons of cargo.
