Passenger air transportation in Turkey down in 10 months of 2019

From January through October 2019, passenger air transportation in Turkey decreased by 1.3 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to over 180 million passengers, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

During this period, the share of passenger transportation by domestic flights accounted for 84.8 million people, which is 12.3 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.

The share of international flights accounted for 95.7 million passengers, which is 11 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.

According to the ministry, from January through October 2019, Turkey's three main airports (except for new Istanbul airport), Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Esenboga Airport and Antalya Airport, carried a total of 74.9 million passengers.
