Cargo movement from Iraq via Turkish ports in October 2019 exceeds 5M tons

In October 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Iraq through Turkish ports amounted to 5.6 million tons, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The ministry noted that in October 2019, the entire volume of cargo transshipped from Iraq through Turkey’s ports was carried out by ships flying the Turkish flag and flags of other countries.

The ministry noted that in October 2019, the volume of transshipment of cargo from Iraq by vessels flying the flag of other countries amounted to 4.8 million tons, and by vessels flying the Turkish flag – 760,894 tons.

During the reporting period, no cargoes from Iraq were shipped to other countries in transit through Turkish ports.

In October 2019, Turkish ports received 5,126 vessels, the gross tonnage of which amounted to 69.8 million tons.

In the reporting period, 1,852 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 3,274 vessels flying the flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

In October 2019, the gross tonnage of vessels arriving at Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 10.5 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 59.2 million tons.

From January through October 2019, Turkish ports received 46,607 vessels, the gross tonnage of which amounted to 660.7 million tons.

In the reporting period, 17,853 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 28,754 vessels flying the flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

From January through October 2019, the gross tonnage of vessels arriving at Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 99.1 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 561.5 million tons.
