Turkish citizens mainly visited such countries as Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq and Algeria to find work from January through November 2019, a source in the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend.
Turkish citizens most often left for Germany in search of work, according to the report.
The number of Turkish citizens who visited Germany via ISKUR to find work increased by 52.6 percent from January through November 2019 compared to the same period of 2018.
Some 2,500 Turkish citizens visited Germany via ISKUR during this period.
From January through November 2019, 2,100 Turkish citizens visited Saudi Arabia via ISKUR in search of work which is 6.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2018.
“Some 2,000 Turkish citizens visited Russia for the same purpose via ISKUR from January through November 2019 which is 28.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2018,” the source said.
“Iraq ranks fourth in the list of job search destinations,” the source said. “From January through November 2019, 1,400 Turkish citizens visited this country via ISKUR, which is 88.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2018,” the source said.
“From January through November 2019, 1,200 Turkish citizens visited Algeria for the same purpose via ISKUR which is 51.2 percent less compared to the same period of 2018,” the source said.
From January through November 2019, 18,053 Turkish citizens went abroad via ISKUR, which is 19 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
In November 2019, 113,035 citizens were provided with jobs through ISKUR in Turkey, which is 3.7 percent more compared to November 2018. Of those employed, 31.9 percent were women and 68.1 percent were men.
Some 98.7 percent of the total number of those provided with jobs in November 2019 accounted for the private sector.
In November 2019, the number of unemployed in Turkey reached over 4 million people, of which 50.4 percent were women and 49.6 percent were men.
