Passenger transportation by air in Turkey dropped by 0.8 percent in January 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to slightly over 13.9 million passengers, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on Feb. 18.
During this period, the passenger flow on domestic flights amounted to slightly over 7.7 million people, which is 9.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
Slightly over 6.1 million passengers were transported by international flights in January 2020, which is 12.1 percent more than in the same period of 2019, the ministry said.
In total, 4.9 million passengers were transported via three major airports of Turkey’s Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya cities in January 2020, the ministry said.
