Cargo transshipment from Egypt through ports of Turkey exceeded 1.8 million tons in January 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.
Last month, the volume of cargo transshipment from Egypt via Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 272,372 tons, while the ships flying flags of other countries accounted for 1.5 million tons of cargo.
Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment from Egypt via Turkish ports by ships flying the Egyptian flag amounted to 199 tons.
Over the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment in transit from Egypt via Turkey's ports amounted to 126,251 tons.
The total cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey exceeded 32.9 million tons in January 2020.
Cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.4 million tons.
During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying flags of their country of origin amounted to over 1.5 million tons, while the vessels flying flags of other countries carried just over 29 million tons of cargo.
In total, over 6.1 million tons of cargo in transit were transported through Turkish ports.
