Turkish ministry reveals amount of cargo transshipped by Russian ships via ports of Turkey

Cargo transshipment from Russia through ports of Turkey amounted to over 5.3 million tons in January 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.

Last month, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia via Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 336,376 tons, while the ships flying the Russian flag carried 743,675 tons of cargo, and ships flying flags of other countries accounted for over 4.2 million tons.

Over the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment in transit from Russia via Turkey's ports amounted to 199,373 tons.

The total cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey exceeded 32.9 million tons in January 2020.

Cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.4 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying flags of their country of origin amounted to over 1.5 million tons, while the vessels flying flags of other countries carried just over 29 million tons of cargo.

In total, over 6.1 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through Turkish ports.
