Turkey discloses revenues from transport taxation, toll roads in first two months of 2020

Turkey's income from taxation of vehicles and from the fees for the use of roads and bridges in February 2020 amounted to over 186.2 million liras ($27.6 million), Trend reports referring to Turkish General Directorate of Highways.

According to General Directorate, the income from the use of road bridges in February 2020 made up 35.4 million liras ($5.2 million) and the income from the fees for the use of roads reached 150.8 million liras ($22.3 million).

“In total, over 32.859 million vehicles proceeded during the reporting period along the country’s roads and bridges,” the General Directorate said.

From January through February 2020, Turkey's income from taxation of vehicles and from the fees for the use of roads and bridges exceeded 375.7 million liras ($55.6 million).

The income from the use of road bridges from January through February 2020 made up 74.7 million liras ($11 million) and the income from the fees for the use of roads reached 301 million liras ($44.6 million).

“In total, over 68.195 million vehicles proceeded during the reporting period along the country’s roads and bridges,” the General Directorate said.

Turkey's income from taxation of vehicles and from the fees for the use of roads and bridges exceeded 2 billion liras ($300 million) in 2019.
