As many as 286,943 flights were carried out in Turkey from January through March 2020, which is 8.8 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Ministry on April 10.
According to the ministry, 178,399 of the flights were domestic, while the remaining 108,544 were international.
“The number of domestic flights decreased by 7.6 percent from January through March 2020, while the number international ones reduced by 10.8 percent,” the ministry said.
A total of 88,375 commercial flights were carried out at three main airports of Turkey - Sabiha Gokcen, Esenboga and Antalya airports in the reporting period.
