Transshipment of goods from Israel via the ports of Turkey from January through April 2020 exceeded 4.9 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on June 4.
In the reporting period, the volume of cargo handled from Israel by ships flying the Turkish flag made up 444,118 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – almost 4.4 million tons.
According to the ministry, in the first four months of this year 99,813 tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Israeli flag.
Meanwhile, 328,886 tons of cargo from Israel were transited through Turkish ports.
From January through April 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to more than 123.4 million tons.
Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag surpassed 9.6 million tons.
The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 4.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 108.8 million tons from January through April 2020.
Over the reporting period, over 24.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to more than 28.8 million tons in April 2020.
In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 2.2 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 25.6 million tons.
According to the ministry, 6.5 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
