Turkish ministry discloses volume of crude oil transshipped via local ports

Total volume of crude oil transshipped via the ports of Turkey from January through April 2020 topped 9.6 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on June 4.

In the reporting period, 736,569 tons of crude oil were transported via ports of Turkey by ships flying the Turkish flag, and over 8.8 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

At the same time, 17.5 million tons of crude oil were transited through Turkish ports.

From January through April 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to more than 123.4 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag surpassed 9.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 4.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 108.8 million tons from January through April 2020.

Over the reporting period, over 24.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to more than 28.8 million tons in April 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 2.2 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 25.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, 6.5 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
