France transit cargo shipment via Turkey slightly up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18

Transit cargo transportation from France via Turkey rose by 5 percent from January through May 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports on June 18 referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND).

In the reporting period, 80 trucks transited cargo from France via Turkey.

Transit cargo transportation from France via Turkey made up almost 0.4 percent of the total volume of transit cargo transportation over the reporting period.

In general, 20,389 trucks transited cargo through the territory of Turkey, which is 36 percent less than in the five months of 2019.

In total, 65,957 trucks transported cargo from abroad to Turkey from January through May 2020, which is 22 percent less compared to the same period in 2019.

As many as 9,285 trucks transported cargo from abroad to Turkey in May 2020, which is 51 percent less compared to May 2019.
