Turkey reveals data on cargo movement via its Hopa port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3

The volume of cargo shipment through Turkey's Hopa port in Artvin province amounted to 119,242 tons from January through May 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Over the reporting period, 39 tons of cargo were moved via the Hopa port by ships flying the Turkish flags, and 119,203 tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

As many as 21,400 tons of cargo were transited through the Hopa port during the indicated period, noted the ministry.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey for the reporting period exceeded 151.4 million tons.

In the first five months of 2020, the volume of cargo shipment by ships flying the Turkish flag made up over 11.9 million tons.

The volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 5.8 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 133.5 million tons.

During this period, over 30.7 million tons of cargo were shipped by transit via the Turkish ports.

In May 2020, the volume of cargo handled through the Turkish ports exceeded 27.9 million tons.

More than 2.3 million tons of cargo were moved by ships flying the Turkish flag. The volume of cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 940,716 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 24.7 million tons.

In May 2020, over 5.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
