Details on cargo transshipment from Belgium via Turkish ports disclosed

The volume of cargo transshipment from Belgium via Turkish ports from January through May 2020 topped 4.3 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on July 7.

In the reporting period, 50,962 tons of cargo from Belgium were handled via Turkish ports by the ships flying the Turkish flag, and 4.2 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Forty-five tons of cargo were handled through Turkish ports by ships flying Belgium’s flag and 170,043 tons of cargo from Belgium were transited via the ports of Turkey.

From January through May 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 151.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag reached 11.9 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 5.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 133.6 million tons from January through May 2020.

Over the reporting period, 30.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 27.9 million tons in May 2020.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag reached 2.3 million tons in May 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 940,716 tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 24.7 million tons.

According to the ministry, 5.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey in May 2020.
