The volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish Iskenderun port reached 39.7 million tons from January through September 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
During the reporting period, 1.1 million tons of cargo were transported via the port of Iskenderun by ships flying the Turkish flag, and ships flying the flag of other countries transported 38.6 million tons of cargo.
Around 914,055 tons of goods were transited through the Iskenderun port over the past nine months of this year, the ministry said.
From January through September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 270.6 million tons.
The volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 21.7 million tons, under the flags of their countries - 10.05 million tons, and under the flags of other countries - 238.8 million tons.
During the reporting period, 54.5 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.
In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 31.2 million tons.
The volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.8 million tons, by ships flying the flags of their countries - 1.01 million tons, and under the flags of other countries - 27.4 million tons.
According to the ministry, in September 2020, 6.2 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the Turkish ports.
