The value of export of grain and legumes from Turkey to Georgia shrank by 6.01 percent in the past 10 months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, having made up $23.926 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In October 2020, Turkey exported grain and legumes worth $8.6 million to Georgia, which is 29.13 percent less than in the same month of last year.

Exports of grain and legumes to global markets from Turkey increased by 4.4 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, totaling over $5.92 billion, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.

At the same time, Turkish exports of grains and legumes made up 4.4 percent of the country's total exports for the reporting period.

In October 2020, Turkey exported $671 million worth of grains and legumes to international markets, which is 3.8 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, noted the ministry.

As reported, Turkey’s exports of grains and legumes in October 2020 made up 3.9 percent of the country's overall exports.

Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey exported grains and legumes worth $7.71 billion, the ministry said.
