Turkey issues Jan. 2021 cargo movement figures via local ports from Algeria

The volume of transshipment of goods from Algeria through the ports of Turkey amounted to 741,005 tons in January 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

In the reporting months, cargo transshipment from Algeria by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 28,671 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – over 2.42 million tons.

According to the ministry, during the specified period, ships flying the Algerian flag transported 291,525 tons of goods through the Turkish ports.

At the same time, the volume of the cargo movement in transit from Algeria through the ports of Turkey amounted to 14,113 tons.

In January 2021, the volume of transportation of goods through the ports of Turkey amounted to 29.1 million tons. Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2,523,867 tons.

During this period, more than 6.04 million tons of cargo passed through the ports of Turkey.

In 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 29.6 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 335.7 million tons.

During the past year, over 72.4 million tons of cargo passed through the ports of Turkey.
