Turkey publishes data on cargo shipment via local ports from Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2

The volume of transshipment of goods from Iran through the ports of Turkey amounted to 115,064 tons in January 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo movement from Iran by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 3,605 tons, by ships flying the flags of other countries – 111,456 tons.

According to the ministry, no cargo was handled through the Turkish ports by ships flying the Iranian flag.

During the reporting month, 6.04 million tons of cargo were handled in transit through the ports of Turkey.

In January 2021, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to over 29.1 million tons, including more than 2.5 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag.

In 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons. Some 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 335.7 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Over the past year, more than 72.4 million tons of cargo had been transited through the ports of Turkey.
