Turkey’s trade turnover with Georgia down

The trade turnover between Turkey and Georgia in February 2021 decreased by $17.5 million compared to the same month of last year, amounting to $119.9 million, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend on April 1.

"Turkish export of goods to Georgia amounted to $97.04 million while import from this country - $22.8 million in February," the ministry said.

The trade turnover between Turkey and Georgia from January through February 2021 decreased by $35.2 million compared to the same period of last year, amounting to $218.4 million.

"The Turkish export of goods to Georgia during the reporting period amounted to $182.5 million while import - $35.8 million," the ministry said.

Turkey's trade turnover with the countries reached $36.2 billion in February 2021. The Turkish export volume grew by 9.6 percent compared to the same month of last year, amounting to $16.9 billion, while import volume decreased by 9.4 percent to $19.3 billion.

Turkey's trade turnover amounted to $68.8 billion from January through February 2021. At the same time, the export volume increased by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of 2020, amounting to $31.4 billion. The import volume increased by 1.4 percent compared to the period from January through February 2020 and reached $37.4 billion.

Turkey's trade with countries reached $388.9 billion in 2020.
