Turkish ministry issues data on cargo shipment via Iskenderun port for Jan. through Feb. 2021

Some 8.3 million tons of goods were transshipped through the Turkish port of Iskenderun from January through February 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 15.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 364,217 tons of cargo were shipped via the Iskenderun port by ships flying the Turkish flag and 7.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, 43,651 tons of goods were transited via the mentioned port, said the ministry.

Some 58.3 million tons of cargo were transshipped through the ports of Turkey from January through February 2021.

Over the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag shipped 4.8 million tons of goods, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 53.6 million tons.

During the reporting period, 11.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

Some 29.2 million tons of cargo were shipped through the Turkish ports in February 2021.

Some 2.2 million tons of cargo were transshipped via the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags while 26.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Some 5.8 million tons of goods were transited through the Turkish ports in February 2021.
