As many as 3,183 tons of cargo were transported through Turkey’s Trabzon Airport from January through March 2021, declining by 38 percent compared to the same period of 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, 3,119 tons of cargo were transported via the country’s domestic flights, showing a 35-percent drop while 64 tons of cargo were transported via the country’s international flights from January through March 2021 compared to the period from January through March 2020.

The Trabzon Airport served up to 383,545 passengers from January through March 2021, which is by 40 percent less than in the same period of last year.

Some 381,164 passengers were served on domestic flights from January through March 2021 showing a 39-percent drop, while 2,290 passengers were served on international flights, showing an 85-percent drop compared to the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, 3,331 flights were made through Trabzon Airport, which is 26 percent less than in the same period of 2020.

Some 3,049 domestic flights were made from January through March 2021, which is by 27 percent less than in the same period of last year, while 282 international flights were made, which is by 18 percent less than in the same period of last year.

All airports served 17,666,605 passengers and 600,433 tons of cargo were transported from January through March 2021.
